The Life and Times of Ryuuie

I've decided to destroy my carpet. :) YAY.

...I was gonna pull it up anyway. This thing is OLD, it's older than ME (and I'm 21, for those who care :P) so...yea. Time to RENOVATE. :3

Xbox Live Gamertag:
So, I installed 007: Quantum of Solace on my PC, it's not that bad...though I have no idea what's going on because I haven't seen the movie, but it's a very decent game.

It's as beautiful on PC as it is on 360 and PS3.

Anyway, installing the game forced me to get XBL Silver, which I don't mind. It's pretty nice.

Apparently, Microsoft now has it so people with 360 can interact with people on PC via Xbox Live. So...

My XBL Gamertag is Ryuuie (how original, right?).

PlayStation Network:
What with me having PS2 and PSP, I also have a PSN account as well. While I don't use PS2 to go online (no one really is there anyway :(), I use my PSP to play online games.

My PSN is Ryuuie as well (again, very original).

Steam:
As most know, I have Bioshock. I also have The Orange Box, this means I have Steam as well. So...yea. :X

Windows 7 Home Basic (Vista equivalent: $200)
-Only available in emerging markets
-Missing Aero UI tweaks
-No limit on concurrent applications
-Live thumbnail previews & enhanced visual experience
-Advanced networking support (ad-hoc wireless networks and internet connection sharing)
-Mobility Center

Win7 Starter and Win7 Home Basic are mainly for 3rd world countries (to combat piracy in those countries) and in low-end Netbooks.

Windows 7 Home Premium (Vista equivalent: $260)
-Available worldwide to OEM and Retail
-Includes all features of Windows 7 Home Basic
-Includes Aero UI tweaks and advanced windows navigation
-Features multi-touch capabilities and improved handwriting recognition
-Adds "premium" games
-Adds media capabilities (enhanced Windows Media Center, enhanced media streaming, DVD playback, DVD creation, Play To, etc.)
-Can create home network groups

Windows 7 Professional (Vista equivalent: $300)
-Available worldwide to OEM and Retail
-Includes all features of Windows 7 Home Premium
-Adds Mobility Center
-Adds Presentation Mode
-Available worldwide to OEM and Retail
-Ability to join a managed network with Domain Join
-Adds Remote Desktop, Offline Folders, etc.
-Data protection with advanced network backup and Encrypting File System
-Print to the right printer at home or work with Location Aware Printing

Microsoft will be focusing on Win7 Home Premium and Win7 Pro.

Windows 7 Enterprise
-Available only in volume licenses
-Includes all features of Windows 7 Professional
-Adds Branch Cache for support when on networks based on Windows Server 2008 R2
-Adds Direct Access for seamless connectivity to corporate networks based on Windows Server 2008 R2
-Adds BitLocker on internal and external HDDs
-Adds AppLocker for locking unauthorized software from running.

Windows 7 Ultimate (Vista equivalent: $320)
-Limited OEM and Retail availability
-Includes all features of Windows 7 Enterprise

Win7 Enterprise and Win7 Ult are not targeted towards consumers. You most likely will never use the abilities of Enterprise or Ultimate.

If you buy a premade (read: made by Dell, Acer, HP, Compaq...etc) Windows XP or Windows Vista machine after July 1, 2009, you are eligible to upgrade your machine to Windows 7 for FREE when it ships.

Bottom line, if you want Windows 7, you'll probably be happy with Home Premium or Professional.

I'm typing this from my newly official ACTIVATED Windows 7 beta! :D

I think I'm the VERY FIRST PERSON in the entire world to get a (public) key.

Why? Well, due to MS not anticipating people wanting a key so badly that they crashed Windows.com and EVERYTHING having to do with it, they had to close the servers down and work on them. However, they said that no one in the world had a key yet so all 2.5 million were still available.

Well, BEFORE they did all that...I had a key. :3 I'm the only one in the world with the first (public) key. And it works too! I can use it 3 times before it doesn't work anymore, so I used one to put it in Virtual PC so I can test it out on Vista until I can get my second HD next week and put it on there.

*Feels special :3*

When I mentioned this to people, no one believed me and so... I have a screenshot. :P



Well, I didn't have a real screenshot, but I DID print the page. So, I scanned it in, edited out the product key, and showed it to people to PROVE I had it first.

At that time, NO ONE else had it and everyone was frantic on getting one.
