Uh....waste of time?

Nebraska Senator Ernie Chambers is suing God for a "permanent injunction ordering Defendant to cease certain harmful activities and the making of terroristic threats."....yea..what?
He says this is to prove a point that, in the US, ANYONE can sue ANYONE for ANY reason....yea, we knew that. Well, some people know it. But still....waste of time much?
Someone actually said they'd represent God...for free.
I'm sure there's a better way to do this without wasting time and money.

Date: 2007-09-18 10:57 am (UTC)for example, you can sue mcdonald's for making you fat. It may be thrown out, but you can still try.
On the surface, that sounds like a bad lawsuit. I mean come on, if you don't want to be fat, don't eat so much!
But what if a company is willingly making their food extra enticing to people, knowing full well that they cannot help themselves. Doesn't that merit some amount of responsibility? (No matter how libertarian you are - yes, it does. Try interacting with other people more if you think everyone has only themselves to blame.)
Of course, suing god is pointless, because God doesn't exist. I don't care what religion you are; god is not a valid defendant in any kind of trial, because he can't communicate with people directly. It'd be like suing a person who has always been a vegetable - I mean how could they do anything?

Personaly I hope Ernie Chambers wins! I kinda wounder if god were to win the suit dosen't he have to be present at the trail?
